¶ First connection with Filezilla and TLS
By default, the FTP protocol is not secure. To compare, FTP and HTTP are both insecure protocols. FTPS and HTTPS on the other hand are.
From now on, to protect the data, the FTP server is secured with a certificate.
Since Filezilla does not use the OS's truststore, a message will appear at the first connection to indicate that the certificate presented by the server is unknown.
It is therefore necessary to check the information presented to validate or not the connection.
- Check the validity of the dates of the certificate: Never accept a certificate that has expired
- Check the common name of the certificate to validate that the certificate matches the domain name you entered
- Check that the host matches what you have entered
- You can tick if you want both boxes to no longer have to confirm the message to future connections.
